High school students receive Martin Luther King Jr. Award

MLK Award Winners

Greenwich Hospital’s medical staff recognized eight outstanding high school students with the Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Award at its recent meeting.

The award, established through Greenwich Hospital’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Council and the Medical Executive Committee (MEC), honors students who embody Dr. King’s values through leadership, service and commitment to their communities.

The MEC and DEIB commit up to $10,000 annually to support this initiative. Key contributors in establishing the award include former Chief Medical Officer Spike Lipschutz, MD; Felice Zwas, MD; Yvonne N. Ankrah, MD; Neal J. Schamberg, MD; and Cassandra Tribble, MD.

“This award is just one of the many ways Greenwich Hospital’s medical staff and administration support youth in Greenwich and neighboring communities, particularly those interested in careers in health care and the health sciences,” said Mark Chrostowski, MD, chief of staff. “Through summer programs, volunteer opportunities and mentorship, we aim to inspire and nurture the next generation of healthcare professionals.”
