Interventional Radiology

Greenwich Hospital interventional radiologists are recognized as pioneers in the field of minimally invasive medicine. They work with nursing and technologist staff to offer image-guided, non-surgical treatments for vascular and non-vascular disease with excellent outcomes for pediatric and adult patients.

Interventional radiology procedures are performed for a broad range of conditions spanning gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary, gynecology, infectious disease, oncology, pediatrics, pain management, urology and venous and arterial disease.

Advanced Imaging Capability

Medical technology is progressing at a rapid pace. Greenwich Hospital offers patients and physicians access to advanced diagnostic resources.

  • 128-slice CT scanner can capture highly precise images of a beating heart in five heartbeats, an organ in one second and an entire body in ten seconds.
  • 1.5 Tesla and 3.0 Tesla MRI are open and closed bore machines that can produce precise imaging to suit a variety of conditions and personal preferences.
  • Fixed-site PET-CT scanner combines two types of imaging technologies to provide greater diagnostic accuracy.
  • PACS is an online system that makes imaging results rapidly available to physicians either in the hospital or in their private offices.
