Who Measures Quality?

There are many avenues available for consumers to get information about healthcare quality measurements.

Two major institutions that report on hospital quality are:

US Department of Health and Human Services

The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) offers a consumer website called Hospital Compare. Here you can find information about how hospitals nationwide treat patients with three of the most common medical conditions requiring hospitalization. These conditions are heart attack, heart failure, and pneumonia. It also reports on surgical infection prevention.

How does Greenwich Hospital Compare?

If you would like to see how Greenwich Hospital compares, go to Hospital Compare. Enter our zip code, 06830, and search Greenwich Hospital’s measures of care.

Joint Commission

A not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the nation's oldest and largest healthcare accrediting body. The commission sets standards that guide hospitals in delivering safe, quality care. Learn more at The Joint Commission's webpage.
