Greenwich, CT (Oct. 7, 2022) – The Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center in Greenwich was awarded a full three-year reaccreditation from the Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), both quality programs of the American College of Surgeons.
“This national seal of approval directly benefits our patients. They have peace of mind knowing they are receiving high-quality, multidisciplinary cancer care that puts the needs of patients and their families at the forefront,” said Diane Kelly, DNP, Greenwich Hospital’s president. “This results in improved patient outcomes.”
To earn accreditation from the Commission on Cancer, a program must meet 34 quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process, and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care.
